HI, I'M MELISSA.
My background’s in Fashion Communications and I spent years working in marketing and social media before deciding to pick up this new skill. I’ve always been guided by curiosity, which led to a series of pivots in my life and, in hindsight, shaped how I approach creative work today.
Working with my hands offers a different kind of fulfillment, one rooted in process rather than output. The lost wax method drew me in for that reason. It’s a slow, tactile way of working, where ideas take shape gradually through carving.
Growing up in Singapore, where conformity and pragmatism are often valued, made me increasingly aware of my own instinct to question prescribed paths. Living in New York during my formative years expanded that way of thinking and gave me the confidence to lean into a more self-defined, intuitive way of living.
LEAP STUDIO is an extension of that mindset and continues to evolve alongside it. It reflects a preference for intuition over instruction and for building something in a way that feels intentional, personal, and true.
